Year of Mercy

The Church is celebrating an extraordinary Jubilee Year of Mercy from Dec. 8, 2015, the feast of the Immaculate Conception, to Nov. 20, 2016, the feast of Christ the King. Pope Francis, who announced the year in March 2015, has said that it is his wish that "the Jubilee be a living experience of the closeness of the Father, whose tenderness is almost tangible, so that the faith of every believer may be strengthened and thus testimony to it be ever more effective."
